Get Crafty & Say Thanks, You’re First Class!
Although I rarely have time for hands-on crafting these days, I do enjoy it. There were times in years past when my entire business was built around crafting - that’s another story for another blog post. But I spotted a way to incorporate a little crafting into business yesterday when I was planning my graphic design marketing calendar for July and realized that July 1st (this Saturday) is National Postal Worker Day. Who knew?
Now, that may not mean much to those of us who simply sit back and wait for our mail to magically appear in our mailboxes as scheduled each day, in the comfort of our heated or air conditioned homes or offices, but for approximately 490,000 postal workers across the United States who walk an average of 4 to 8 miles carrying a full load of letters and packages in all kinds of weather including extreme heat, cold, rain, sleet, snow, and blizzards, it probably means a little something.
So, in my opinion, the least we can do is say thank you. A small act of kindness one day a year to show that we appreciate their efforts isn’t too much to ask is it?
So please join me in my “You’re First Class All The Way” mission to make a postal worker’s day! Any small gesture will do the trick. Since the weather is getting pretty hot in most areas right now, a simple bottle of cold water would be a welcome surprise, don’t you think?
So, I spent part of my day yesterday (way more than I probably should have, shhh) designing a couple crafty ideas to share with all of you to make the task a little easier. A simple water bottle wrap, gift tag, and small gift bag (for goodies) that can all be printed and quickly crafted into really cute gifts for your postal carrier. I can’t wait to leave mine out for him on Saturday!
I’d love to see how you use my designs in creative ways to make your postal worker’s day! Please share photos on my Facebook page or on Instagram using #NationalPostalWorkerDay and #YoureFirstClassAllTheWay.
Please share this with all your family and friends so that together we can make every postal worker’s day!
Wishing your crafting fun and the pleasure of giving…enjoy!
